چکیده
Introduction Schizophrenia is associated with harmful health effects such as oxidative stress from heavy metal exposure. We considered the relationship between genes and metals in association then investigated serum α- klotho copper cadmium exposure among schizophrenia patients western India. Objectives To Methods 100 individuals participated out of which 50 were diagnosed schizophrenia, severity was assessed by using PANSS score taken controls General questionnaire. Serum Klotho levels estimated ELISA. Cadmium (Cd) Copper (Cu) Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. Results The mean ± SD Cd, Cu 1.05 0.55 μg/dl, 135.5 51.25 μg/ml 62.9 35.1 ng/ml respectively 0.23 0.17 147.9 25.42 78.6 34.6 controls. differences study group highly significant (p <0.05). Conclusions Both Cd significantly raised schizophrenic compared showed a statistically decreasing trend increasing levels. These results suggest that may be decreased cognition schizophrenia. Soluble α-Klotho serum levels in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Transmembrane α-Klotho (TM-Klotho), mainly expressed in renal distal tubules, is a co-factor for FGF23 receptor. Circulating soluble α-Klotho (s-Klotho) results from shedding of the ecto-domain of TM-Klotho and has specific effects on urinary Phosphate (P) and Calcium (Ca) transport. The possibility exists that a decrease in TM-Klotho, described in experimental chronic kidney disease (CKD), may...

Transmembrane α-Klotho (TM-Klotho), expressed in renal tubules, is a cofactor for FGF23-receptor. Circulating soluble-α-Klotho (s-Klotho) results from TM-Klotho shedding and acts on Phosphate (P) and Calcium (Ca) tubular transport. Decreased TM-Klotho, described in experimental chronic kidney disease (CKD), prevents actions of FGF23 and lessens circulating s-Klotho. Thus, levels of s-Klotho cou...
متن کاملSerum zinc and copper levels in children with febrile convulsion
Febrile convulsions (FC) are the most common neurologic disorder in children 6-60 months of age. Zinc (Zn) and copper (Cu) play role as cofactors in more than 300 enzymatic activities significantly. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship serum levels of Zn and Cu with seizure occurrence in febrile children. In this case-control study, 270 children with 6 month to 6 years were ev...

Association of serum levels of FGF23 and α-Klotho with glomerular filtration rate and proteinuria among cardiac patients
BACKGROUND Expression and/or excretion of fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF23) and its co-receptor Klotho are altered in patients with end-stage renal disease. The possibility that the FGF23/α-Klotho system mediates the aggravated cardiovascular outcome among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been suggested. We determined whether FGF23 and α-Klotho concentrations are altered among p...
